Kid Francescoli is back with “Don’t Get on the Plane,” the last single before his seventh album, A Kind Wave, out October 9 via All Night Long / Believe France. The track features vocalist Andrea, who sings on five of the album’s tracks.
It follows “City of Gold,” released back in June with Nigerian vocalist Demigod, another sign that this new chapter leans harder into guest voices than anything Kid Francescoli has done before.
A POP TURN
Kid Francescoli built his name on cinematic, atmospheric electro, tracks built more for drifting than dancing. “Don’t Get on the Plane” flips that script. It’s synth-pop through and through, built on an unmistakably 90s dance pulse, catchy and immediate in a way that stands out even against his own catalogue. The song puts the hesitations of a relationship at a breaking point into music, caught between wanting to hold on and knowing when to let go.
