About French Touch Music

French Touch Music is an independent magazine and shop dedicated to French electronic music. Founded in 2010, it became a key reference for the French Dance and Electro scene. Today, it covers the artists, releases and culture of French electronic music for a global audience, alongside a shop of apparel and lifestyle products made in France.

Our Story

Launched in 2010, French Touch Music quickly established itself as a key reference for news from the French Dance and Electro scene. More than a blog, French Touch Music also played a real role in bringing French artists to North American stages. Working closely with the Consulate General of France in San Francisco and the Bureau Export, it helped promote concerts, club nights and events featuring artists from the French electronic scene, reaching both the French expat community and local audiences.

After hundreds of articles, dozens of interviews and many events, French Touch Music paused its activity in 2020.

In 2024, French Touch Music returned with the same ambition: to promote and celebrate the French electronic music scene.

Responding to growing demand from its readers and event-goers, French Touch Music also launched an online shop, a selection of fashion and lifestyle products, made in France, that let fans show their style and carry the French Touch spirit around the world.

WHAT WE COVER

Our editorial team writes about new releases, artist interviews, live events and the stories behind the French electronic scene. From the pioneers of the French Touch (Daft Punk, Justice, Air, Cassius, Étienne de Crécy) to the new generation, we cover French electronic music with the depth and care it deserves.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

We believe style and responsibility go together. Every product in our shop is made in France from organic and recycled materials, and every order ships in plastic-free packaging. No compromise on the look. No compromise on the planet.

THE FOUNDER

French Touch Music is the initiative of Xavier Tumminello, a music industry professional with more than 20 years of experience.

Raised near Versailles (the iconic birthplace of the French Touch), Xavier discovered music early. He trained for over fifteen years in classical music at the conservatory, while playing in metal bands such as Chaos Engine and Emetic. Driven by a passion for music production, he devoted himself to supporting artists, both in their productions and their promotion strategies. During this period he had the chance to meet and work alongside members of Air and Phoenix, godfathers of the French Touch scene.

After collaborating with many French and international artists at leading record labels, Xavier moved to the United States, where he joined Apple as part of the Apple Music editorial team. It was in this context that French Touch Music was born.

Today, he supports major players in the music industry with their marketing, communication, innovation and international development.
