Cassius Are Back: “Dance On” Arrives Ahead of a One-Off Olympia Show

Cassius performing at Rock en Seine, 2012

Cassius are marking 20 years of the project with a long-lost recording and a single night at the Olympia. “Dance On,” the final track Philippe “Zdar” Cerboneschi and Hubert “Boombass” Blanc-Francard made together, came out October 31, 2025 via LOVESUPREME/Justice (Ed Banger Records), right alongside news of an exceptional, one-off Paris show.

A song finished before tragedy struck
“Dance On” was recorded back in 2018, just months before Zdar’s accidental death in 2019, and only now mixed and released by longtime collaborator Pierrick Devin. It carries Zdar’s original vocals and synth work, layered with guitar from Matthieu Chedid (-M-), and it echoes the sound of Cassius’s 2019 album “Dreems,” the record that came out in the wake of his death.

Twenty years, one night, one stage
To mark the release, Boombass is taking “Dance On” on the road with a new Live A/V show built around reworked Cassius classics, playing three exclusive dates in April 2026: Webster Hall in New York, Koko in London, and, on April 22, a 20th anniversary show at the Olympia in Paris. Tickets went on sale in October 2025, priced between 49.50 and 66 euros, for what’s being billed as a one-off date rather than the start of a tour.

The duo that kept going
Cassius was born as the duo of Zdar and Boombass. Since Zdar’s death in 2019, Boombass has carried the project forward, and this pairing, a lost recording finally finished and a hometown anniversary show, doubles as proof that Cassius, now firmly a pillar of the French Touch story, is still a living, working act rather than a legacy name people just look back on.

Finishing a song with someone who’s no longer around to hear the final mix can’t be easy, but pairing it with a victory lap at the Olympia might be the most Cassius way to mark 20 years: one old friend’s voice, one big room, and no plans to slow down.
