Joachim Garraud just published the kind of book most DJs only joke about writing. “I Love My DJ Life,” unveiled in January 2026, packs 40 years of his career, disco-mobile gigs, an Ibiza residency, collaborations with David Guetta and Jean-Michel Jarre, into 528 pages.
A book you don’t just read, you scan
The collector’s edition is limited to 500 numbered copies and built around more than 450 QR codes linking out to videos, audio archives, photos and other exclusive documents, so it works as much as a multimedia archive as a straight memoir. Garraud was a key behind-the-scenes partner to Bob Sinclar in the early 2000s, and the two effectively helped build a French house hit factory together before their careers went their separate ways.
The proceeds go somewhere that matters
Every euro of profit from the book goes to A.R.T.u.R., an association funding kidney cancer research, in tribute to Garraud’s late friend Fred Rister. It’s a detail that turns what could have been a straightforward victory-lap memoir into something a bit more generous.
Writing 528 pages about your own career could easily read as an ego project. Making all the profits go to cancer research in a friend’s memory turns it into something else entirely: proof that four decades into the job, Garraud still knows how to make a room feel a certain way, on paper this time instead of on a dancefloor.
